Horsin’ Around Has Pony Rides, Birthday Parties & More Fun in Calgary
Calling all cowboys and cowgirls! Did you know that you can experience a little bit of ‘country’ just outside the city?
A mere five-minutes from Calgary’s southeast city limits, sits Horsin’ Around – an indoor heated facility offering pony rides, a petting farm, bouncy houses, and a fun inflated laser-tag spaceship.
If you don’t mind bundling up a little bit, you can also enjoy horse-drawn sleigh rides around the property during the winter months (don’t worry, you can warm up with the free coffee and hot chocolate that they offer during sleigh ride season).
Optional western riding lessons are also available, on weekends, and can be pre-purchased online for $45 for a 45-minute group lesson (up to six similar-level riders may be included in your group).
Special holidays are celebrated with fun, seasonal activities and are very well attended. Some of their special events include: Mother’s Day (moms get in free), Father’s Day (dads get in free), Canada Day (live bands, pancake breakfast, wagon rides), as well as their 10-Days of Christmas. If you plan to visit during one of these times it is best to pre-book your reservations online, to avoid disappointment.
Horsin’ Around also offers birthday party packages (Pony Parties and Horse Parties) and Horse Camps for those looking for a little bit more. Camps are offered during Spring Break, summer time and Christmas, and include daily pony or horse rides, play on the bouncy houses, and feeding of the petting farm animals such as goats, chickens, pigs, rabbit, and more.
In case you get hungry, or thirsty, there is a small concession available serving items such as hot dogs, chips, pop, juice and water. If you prefer to bring your own lunch, or snacks, they do allow outside food and have some picnic tables set up inside.
Horsin’ around is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am – 4pm (and they do allow in and out privileges). The price for admission is: Adults $12, Children $10 or a Family of 4 is $39.99. Seasonal passes are also available if you inquire within.
