A Giant Leap for Kidkind

Indoor Playground and Trampoline

Summer is awesome in almost every single way, but being trapped inside the house with the kids on a rainy vacation day can feel like a journey of epic proportions. Luckily, there’s one place in town where children are literally invited to bounce off the wallsSky Zone, the new indoor trampoline park in Ottawa’s east end.

We love to start our energy burn with a trip to the giant foam pit—jump as high as you dare on the trampolines that border the pit, then fling yourself outwards for a soft landing. Climbing out is half the fun, and leads to a lot of giggles. Then, it’s on to the main pad, a huge space with a grid of trampolines on the floor and up the walls. Flip, skip or just jump, jump, jump—it’s guaranteed to tire out the whole family. Wrap things up with a visit to the dodgeball pit, where balls and jumping make for a hilarious and thrilling workout.

It may sound chaotic, but the friendly and attentive staff work to ensure kids of all ages are safe and have all the space they need to have fun. Unsure youngsters, however, might prefer Toddler Time on weekday mornings, where some jump areas are restricted to those who are a little shakier on their feet. (Good to Know: Toddler Time offers a discounted rate, and additional discounts for multiple kids.)

Did you say summer birthday? You can book your birthday party at Sky Zone—their Super Jump packages include private court time, and there’s seriously no better place in town to work off a cake-induced sugar high.

Good to Know: Bring socks. Jumpers are required to wear special shoes provided by Sky Zone. Also, jump tickets are for a specific time of day, so consider pre-buying tickets online to ensure you can start jumping as soon as you arrive.

This year, the arrival of a rainy summer’s day will have both you and the kids jumping for joy.
