After-School Sports: Where to Go

Keep the summer activity level going with fall sports programs, like the one at Starr Gymnastics. Find out more.

Just because fall is right around the corner, doesn’t mean that the fun has to stop. Keep them busy and moving after school with these fun and sporty classes around town

Starr Gymnastics & Fitness
Starr Gymnastics is a great place to go for moms and kids. We love their ‘Have a Ball with Mom’ fitness class, which helps mom get her groove back after baby is born. Little ones are invited to explore some simple equipment next to mom, while bigger kids can try out a drop-in class for their own workout on the trampolines and rope swing. Not ready to commit? Try their brand new Baby Playtime, running at all three locations. It’s a great chance to meet other parents, give a few easy exercises a try, test your baby’s budding gymnastics abilities and, best of all, it’s absolutely free. (Jump around)

Ottawa Shooting Stars
With professional basketball arriving in town this fall in the form of the Ottawa SkyHawks, you’ll likely have some budding b-ballers in the house. We think the ‘Small Ball’ program from Ottawa Shooting Stars is a winner—kids ages 4 through 7 pick up some serious skills while dreaming of becoming the next LeBron James. Coach Alex brings a ton of energy and fun to the room while teaching the kids the basics of dribbling, passing and dunking. (Dunk it)

Don’t let the fun stop here. We have more great places to sign up for fall classes—so keep clicking!
