Pick of The Week: Halo Top, The Popular ‘Guilt-Free’ Ice Cream is Now In Canada!

‘I scream. You scream. We all scream for ice cream!’ Now you can have that ice cream…wait for it…guilt free!

Yup, you heard correctly. GUILT. FREE. Halo Top Ice cream, originally founded in Los Angeles, is finally coming to Canada. Halo Top, the low calorie, low sugar, high protein ice cream is one of the best-selling ice cream brands in America, and was named Time Magazine’s 25 Best Inventions of 2017.

Each flavour ranges from 240-360 calories per pint (about four servings per pint!) So, you know, if you find yourself accidentally finishing the entire tub while you’re watching Netflix, don’t panic. And if you only have a couple scoops, the indulgence will be between 80-100 calories.

Halo Top Creamery was founded by former lawyer turned ice cream aficionado, Justin Woolverton, who was on a quest for an ice cream he could enjoy without any guilt. ‘Our number one international request, by far, was to bring Halo Top to Canada,’ says Woolverton.

I had the chance to test out four of their 12 flavours, now available in Canada, including Sea Salt Caramel, Birthday Cake, Mint Chip and Candy Bar. All of the flavours were absolutely delicious. Other Halo fan favourite flavours coming to Canada include, Peanut Butter Swirl, Caramel Macchiato, Pancakes and Waffles (can’t wait to try this one!) and Oatmeal Cookie. Their motto definitely rings true: Save The Bowl, You’re going to Want the Whole Pint.
