Curb Appeal

Trucking around the city is an activity we’€™re all too familiar with. But sometimes we’€™re happy to leave it to others’€”like the truckers behind Curbside Bliss Cupcakes‘€”a food truck bringing sweet treats to a corner or cul-de-sac near you.
Launched a few short weeks ago, the easy-to-spot bright blue mobile bakery is the latest in the city’€™s gourmet food truck phenomenon. Owner Cynthia Pacheco, a mother of two young children herself, knows what makes kids’€™ mouths water (and adults too.)

We sampled delicious Apple Pecan Pie, Coffee Crisp cupcakes and huge chocolate chip cookies’€”though the menu will change daily and includes Dulce de Leche, Banana Cream, Raspberry, Mint and many more fantastic flavours.

You can find them popping up at local markets, including Mt. Pleasant and Davisville Park, Queen and Jarvis and more. Track their status on Facebook to see more locations around the city this summer.

We love that Curbside Bliss welcomes birthday party orders. Their Bliss Pops are a cupcake/push candy combo sure to be a huge hit, which they deliver to your door for a fee. With larger minimum orders, they’€™ll set up outside your house for private parties and events.

Although not a nut-free facility, they consider themselves nut safe, as the spotless stainless steel in-truck baking facilities mean everything is made from scratch, then completely washed before the next recipe can be made so cross contamination is greatly minimized.

In the true spirit of cupcakes-aren’€™t-just-for-kids, Curbside Bliss Cupcakes also offers adult-only flavours: Beer Run (Guinness with chocolate sponge and candied bacon), Hit the Road Jack! (Jack Daniel’s and red velvet sponge) and more.

Even if your summer has to be spent in the car, this is one type of roadside assistance you’ll never tire of. And for more assistance with the next birthday party in your house, try one of these 8 Places for Birthday Treats in Toronto.
