The Day Camp Crunch

We know that planning for 10 weeks of summer isn’t easy, especially while juggling changing vacation schedules and visits with out-of-towners. So don’t panic if you have a week (or a few) without camp coverage—there is still time and space at some fantastic day camps in and around Toronto. We’ve rounded up the best of the bunch to make the experience worry-free for kids and parents.

Kids Inc.
This camp is located just far enough out of the city that the kids get a wilderness camp experience, including optional add-ons like canoe trips and rock climbing. Busing options for those in the GTA’s west and northwest corners are plentiful and there’s even a mini camp for kids as young as four years—they’ll be having way too much fun to fret about missing mom.

Cedar Glen
One of the YMCA’s flagship camps, the high ropes course here is breathtaking and the terrain is pure wilderness. There is busing up to the camp’s location in Schomberg with trained bus marshals that make the ride as fun as the camp.
