A Spring Break Primer

While some parents might panic at the prospect of entertaining the troops for up to two long weeks this Spring Break, Vancouver savvy moms know that the problem isn’t finding stuff to do, it’s finding time to cram it all in.
Spring break camps offer classes on cooking, dancing, soccer and stop-motion animation, just to name a few. There are museum, gallery and theatre options galore and a plethora of outdoor pursuits like hiking, biking, skiing, zip-trekking and golf. You’ll never hear ‘I’m bored!’ with this list of our favourite Spring Break to-do’s.

Exercise the right sides of their brains at Collage Collage with a week of CRAFTERNOONS, where the 5 to 8 year old set can experience painting, drawing and collage in an intimate and inspiring setting, while you can grab a coffee and a double-baked almond croissant at neighbouring Matchstick Coffee. Good to Know: Spots are limited, so register as soon as possible.

The Cat in the Hat

If an outing to the theatre is more to your taste, the Waterfront Theatre on Granville Island and The Cat in the Hat will surely perk up any rainy day for your family. Based on the much-loved children’s book by Dr. Seuss, this mischievous tale follows the cat as he turns a rainy afternoon into an amazing adventure for Sally and her brother. But what will happen when Mom comes home? You’ll have to go to find out.

YogaButtons Studio
For some relaxation, get the kids centred at YogaButtons Studio. Their five-day camp encourages playful imagination and active bodies through yoga, crafts, stories and games. We like that they also provide the kids with a healthy snack and juice, and little yogis will love the YogaButtons tank or tee that is included with registration.

So much to do, so little time! We rounded up everything for you in one convenient spot—Spring Break in Vancouver: What to Do.
