Organizing Kids' Artwork
No more worrying that Junior will find his latest work of art in the recycling bin. We have 11 great ways to preserve kids' artwork.
-
Lil Davinci® Art Frames
Proudly maintain your own in-house revolving art gallery of the kids' artwork with one of these cabinets that give you framing and storing capabilities for up to 50 pieces of creativity—at one time. Genius.
-
Staples® Mailing/Storage Tube
It's not fair to have favourites when it comes to your kids, but when it comes to their art work, it's fair to want to keep just the standouts. Once you've selected some special examples of their awesome creativity, store them safely (and out of the way) in mailing tubes that can hold at least a dozen or more of their ‘did it myself' paper masterpieces.
-
Picaboo - Classic Photo Books
Taking pictures of the kids' minor masterpieces to put into a photo book isn't new (still an excellent idea though), but what we love about Picaboo in particular is their Book Genie feature which easily grabs and sorts the images from your computer or social media sites—saving you all the time you spend searching for those creative keepsakes you've saved in several different places.
-
Star Art Cable
Stored but not forgotten. The sky's the limit when it comes to what kids can create, so celebrate all that inspiration and industriousness with a hanging cable system that easily allows for displaying, as well as switching up their works of art.
-
Cozi Collage Screensaver
If your computer has a central spot in your home, capture all the images of their earnest artwork, then allow the Cozi Collage screensaver to display everything in a rotating collage that can be seen by anyone—most importantly the young creators themselves.
-
Blurb Photo Book
Using their templates for easy layout (or if you have that creative spark yourself), you can organize the images in any way you please. Blurb captures the images of artwork that have been lovingly crammed into any available storage space, then produces a picture-perfect keepsake book for you and the kids.
-
Smead Recycled Artist Portfolio
The slim under-the-bed art portfolio (that's where we store ours, anyway) is perfect for keeping all the kids' artwork together, especially when space (under the bed, dresser, couch, cabinet) is limited. It's easy for them to pull out on their own when they want to peruse their past collections, too.
-
Shutterfly Photo Books
One of the most well-known creators of online photo books, Shutterfly, makes it extraordinarily simple to streamline the overwhelming intake of art projects that come home at the end of the year. Take a picture, upload, organize and order. How you sneak the original into the recycling bin without them noticing is up to you.
-
Large Craft Tub
Paper-based art projects that are 8" by 11" are fine, but for the days they bring home super-sized pieces of artistic output, a clear, oversized, under-the-bed storage system will help you sail though the organizational Olympics you put yourself through each month.
-
myDrawings.me
Another option: online art gallery sites for kids. myDrawings.me offers easy scan and upload instructions and the ability to share all the art-work images you have captured with your friends and family on a secure site.
-
Little Sketchers
It's a website for kids…but really, it's for their parents who will appreciate not having to physically store all that artwork. Sign up, create a virtual studio and then upload sketches and drawings. Kids can also colour and create in real time—but what we liked best was the feature allowing us to write small stories or memories alongside each uploaded art piece.
