Kudos to Andrea Gordon of the Toronto Star who wrote a great article last week in support of mom entrepreneurs. Noting that today, four of five Canadian small businesses are launched by women and 80 per cent of those are mothers, Gordon was very supportive of the mom entrepreneur movement and its increasing popularity. She was also quick to point out, however, that these moms are might not just be dabbling in enterprises during kiddie nap times. SavvyMom was quoted throughout the article, as were other great mom-run businesses like Victoria Turner’s Pippalily baby slings and Shaindy Alexander’s Ringley Earth-friendly teether.
We are looking forward to supporting these savvy mom entrepreneurs once again in our upcoming Mom Entrepreneur of the Year Contest launching in June. Watch for it!
It’s that time of the year again! Yes, spring is finally here—and so is baby show season. So the SavvyMom team is hitting the road and we hope you’ll come out and see us. We were in Calgary this past weekend at Family-a-Fair at the RoundUp Center with two amazing baskets full of cute baby stuff (compliments of our friends at Joe Fresh Style) that we gave away. It was great to meet lots of our Calgary subscribers there, as well as many of our mom entrepreneur friends as well. This weekend, we’ll be back at the Today’s Parent Babytime show in Toronto with our second annual Dream Baby Shower contest. We’ve got an incredible prize package worth over $4,000 to be won—full of the SavvyMom editor’s picks for the best, the latest and greatest must have stuff for mommy and baby. We hope to see you—drop by our booth and say hi!

Nice article. Very nice site as well @ Tammy. I found a great ebook as well, for free at starfreebie.com. Well worth the read, if anybody is looking for business tips for mom entrepreneurs.
Thanks Tammy and congratulations on your great business
