Our Editor's September Picks

My calendar is telling me September is almost over but it feels like a four week blur to me. Between back-to-school routines, forms to fill out, curriculum nights and trying to decide whether it’s still open toe shoe season or not, a mom has a lot to check off in a day.

In case you got a bit too busy to read all that we dished out last month, I thought I would round up a few Savvy highlights from September.

The most exciting part of the month was our Five Year Birthday. And like most moms, instead of making our birthday about us, we turned it into something for our readers and launched our Savvy in NYC Contest —where we’re offering one lucky winner a trip to New York City for two.

Our Back-to-School Guides were chock-full of great ideas and the Accessories Guide and Breakfast Guide were very popular. We encouraged readers to think outside the box (literally, outside the cereal box) and make some simple and sweet alternatives in the a.m.

If you’re tired of the morning routine and looking for some inspiration for dinner, the mighty potato was the featured ingredient this month on EatSavvy. My family’s favourites were the scalloped potatoes and the potato and apple pancakes (which we topped with a poached egg). Very yummy.

Not to be missed on the blogs was a bit of glamour from the TIFF when Sarah and Minnow were escorted around town for a night with a driver in a lovely Cadillac SRX. We didn’t meet any celebs, but we felt like one, thanks to Cadillac.

There’s always a lot happening at SavvyMom and October is lining up to be just as exciting with lots going on for Thanksgiving and Halloween.

We’re not slowing down because we know you’re not either!
