We’ve been honoured with another distinction!
A few weeks ago, we found out that SavvyMom Media had ranked #14 on the 10th annual PROFIT HOT 50 ranking—which lists the ‘hottest’ and fastest growing companies in Canada. Well, as if that’s not exciting enough, the people at PROFIT invited us to a weekend of networking and training (what they call ‘Growth Camp’), which took place last weekend in Niagara-on-the-Lake. There Sarah and I met the other CEO’s of the other top 50 companies, listened to inspiring talks and participated in some group workshops. It was a busy weekend but it was very helpful and very inspiring, as we learned the stories of all the other businesses in attendance.
Here is a video that kickstarted the final keynote speech made by Cameron Herold, former COO of 1-800 Got Junk. It captures the spirit of what everyone was celebrating over the weekend—entrepreneurship—and how entrepreneurs can change the world.
If you are a small business owner yourself, a mom entrepreneur or if you know one, you’ll appreciate this.
The PROFIT HOT 50 is the definitive ranking of Canada’s Emerging Growth Companies. Published in the October issue of PROFIT magazine and online at PROFITguide.com, the PROFIT HOT 50 ranks young firms by two-year revenue growth.

Wow! I feel so very connected.
Wednesday’s She’s Connected Conference was an amazing and stimulating day (albeit a little tiring). It was particularly exciting to meet so many great people—especially the ones with whom I already had deep online-only relationships. We learned from so many people about social media and were intrigued and inspired by Professor Sidneyeve Matrix’s presentation on ‘How to “Click” with Millennial Moms”. It was one of the most insightful assessments of the way technology is shaping the mom market I have heard.
And we all enjoyed learning from the Egg Farmers of Ontario and meeting Dianne McComb, a REAL egg farmer, who added a note of authenticity to the Egg Farmers message. Check out their great new ‘Who Made Your Eggs Today?’ campaign. I am already looking forward to the next conference.
If you were there, I would love to know what your highlights were.
