There are some moms I know who sit down on Sunday night and plan their family’s meals for the entire week to come. They set the menus and do the shopping once for the week and every night at 6, they sit down with their family to eat dinner. Sadly, I am not one of them, as much as I aspire to be. To be sure, some weeks I manage to be more organized than others but usually the dinner plan is a mystery to me until I get home from work. (And occasionally it involves Thai food delivery!)
And that’s why I am so in love with new food site Notakeout.com. Every morning they send me an email with a great family dinner menu that can be prepared in around 30 minutes. They come with an ‘express-line friendly’ shopping list and a step-by-step ‘Game Plan’ to getting the meal on the table, starting from when you walk in the door with the grocery bags. The meals are seasonal and fresh and easy to make, while at the same time introducing you to new cooking techniques and ingredients. It’s free to subscribe and it’s saving me time and money when it comes to getting dinner on the table. There’s something to be said about having the dinner dilemma sorted out by 10 am!

I’m sorry to say I am one of those people who meal plan each Sunday:) It’s so hard for me to cook on the fly. I like knowing what we’re going to eat and shopping and preparing as much as possible in advance. However, thank you for the introduction to this website. I looks and sounds great and despite my compulsion to meai plan I may just sign up for this for the great ideas.
Somehow not surprised you are a meal planner! But you can definitely still get great ideas from Notakeout.com and then just plan the recipes in for subsequent days.
Absolutly love this site! Thank-You. I am one of those “Take-Out” Mom’s but now thanks to this! It’s changing…TODAY! Thanks again.
I found out about notakeout a few weeks ago. I’m not a good planner either and I’ve been struggling to prepare good food for dinner every night. The NTO site has really saved me. I’m hoping they keep the site updated with new selections every day.
