Asparagus Roll-Ups with Turkey and Havarti

Makes 8 roll-ups

You'll Need
  • 1 can whole wheat crescent dinner rolls
  • 16 asparagus spears, trimmed
  • 4 slices havarti or white cheddar cheese, cut into thin strips
  • 8 slices cooked turkey (or ham) cut in half
Prep and Cook
  • In medium-sized uncovered skillet, bring ½ cup of salted water to a boil; add asparagus spears in one layer and cook for 2 minutes.
  • Drain and place immediately in a bowl of ice cold water to stop the cooking process.
  • Follow package instructions for crescent rolls to roll dough, including in each one, one piece of turkey, one strip of cheese and two asparagus spears.
  • Cook according to package instructions for dough.
  • Serve roll-ups at room temp or warm from the oven.

Good to know: Leave a few of the rolls without filling and serve in place of bread or rolls at dinner or in school lunches.

I don’t if you realize it, but in the ingredients you said to use turkey but in the directions you said ham.  Do you mean you could use either?

    Hi Rita,
Thanks for your comments. Yes, we think the turkey and ham are interchangeable. Both are delicious in this recipe and kids love them!
