Bag It

Reusable Lunch Bags and Tote Shopping Bags
Bag It

We’re not ashamed to admit that we’re all about the latest ‘It’ bag. But we’ll also admit that we’re so not into whatever Katie, Angelina or Paris are carrying. Our interest is tied more directly to reducing waste and using fewer plastic bags (without sacrificing style, of course) so for fall, we’re building a bit of a bag wardrobe.

Bagging Groceries
For trips to the grocery store, we’re planning to accessorize with the Grocery Pod. The round shape of this reusable and washable fabric grocery bag means it fits more than two plastic bags worth of groceries inside. The long straps allow for carrying by hand or over the shoulder and the eight different patterns are all a definite fashion cut above the usual grocery store reusable bag (so we can help save the earth in style).

Crocodile Creek Lunch Bag
For something a little more old-school but equally PVC free, the insulated lunch bags from Crocodile Creek are a great buy. Savvy-tested over three years of school and summer camp, ours is still going strong. The outside pocket comes in handy for little treasures and the inside is easy to wipe clean. Available at Mastermind ($16.99)

T Bag & Co Pretty in Pink CollectionBagging Odds and Ends
When you’re out and about running errands, a gourmet market tote from T Bag & Co makes a great accessory. Available in a multitude of beautiful fabrics, the bags come in fashionable ‘collections’ of three so you can keep one in the stroller, one in the car and one by the back door. Available at ($15.60)

SoYoung Mother Chocolate Brown Diaper BagBagging Diapers
Sadly we’re not ‘so-young’ (mothers) anymore, but we know a savvy diaper bag when we see one and the SoYoung Mother diaper bag definitely fits the bill. Its wide opening, flat bottom, contrasting interior lining and see-through pockets help avoid the dreaded diaper-bag black hole effect. And the multitude of special pockets, stroller straps, change pad, wetbag and accompanying checklist help ensure you leave home with everything you need. When you’re finished with diapers, the bag makes a great-looking computer tote too (we’re carrying the chocolate brown one to work these days). Available at ($150)

So bag a few bags and tote some new totes. Green style is definitely in.
