Deal Me In

True Cuddles
True Cuddles

C is for cookie,
That one we know,
C is for candy,
That post-Halloween no-no,
C is for Christmas and trips to the mall,
And C is for cuddles
The best mom-word of all.

C is also for cash, commerce and community, three words associated with True Cuddles, brainchild of local mom entrepreneur Julie Baron who experienced the frustration of online shopping with babe in arm. Her experience shopping in short windows between feeding, changing and sleeping combined with disappointments regarding the number of products not travelling north across the 49th parallel sparked the idea for True Cuddles.

The online store only sells one item at a time, but that ’Cuddle of the Week’ changes on a weekly basis. The items are innovative, cool or just simply tough to get without dropping some hefty coin on shipping, duty and currency conversion (Two more C words we love to hate).

The best part? The discount, of course. Everything is 40 to 70 percent off retail.

So, how do you get in on the action? These deeply discounted products will be released in limited supply every Monday morning on the website. Those who are on the email list will receive notice. Sign up for the Cuddle of the Week email and be in the loop first thing or, just pop a reminder in your calendar with a link to the site.

The first Cuddle of the Week hit inboxes last week and featured clothing by Hand Picked Pumpkin for both boys and girls up to 24 months at half price. Top it off with free shipping anywhere in North America for the month of November and you have a pretty sweet deal. Products will be sourced from a variety of categories designed for moms, baby, pre-mom and kids too.

Shipping via drop-off will always be free in Calgary giving us one more incentive to get online and shop (as if we needed another reason, really).

Just like the Advent calendar, the anticipation of Cuddle of the Week will be almost as good as the deal itself.

Almost, but not quite.
