Let’s clarify a bit. The farmer in this case is more of a designer. It’s a she, not a he, she doesn’t actually have a goat (she just knows someone else that does) and her name is not McDonald. Come to think of it, she’s not even old.

Pam Willcocks is a mom-entrepreneur, fashion designer and mom to 3 (yes 3) boys. Her company, Snapdragon Designs produces unique fashion accessories and cashmere products usually only accessible to those lucky central Canadians.

This coming weekend, Snapdragon is making a repeat appearance at the Calgary Farmers’ Market, back again after the resounding success of their inaugural visit to Cowtown in July.

This time, they are bringing a cache of sassy fall handbags, wallets, weekenders and totes. So, if you don’t mind comments like “ooh, I love your bag”, check out Snapdragon Design’s wares.

With geometric, mid-century modern patterns and the brand new funky cowhide carryalls, Snapdragon Design’s products are just a little different (and very well priced too). They make limited numbers of each bag to help ensure you never meet up with your bag’s twin and they are all made in Canada from designer fabrics.

While the purses, clutches and bags are starring in this weekend’s performance, the luxury must-haves this fall are made of sumptuous cashmere. Cashmere sweaters, wraps and pashminas for mom are all made in Nepal at production facilities that are supported by Care & Fair for children’s welfare. Care & Fair monitors activities at the facilities to ensure no child labor is utilized. The project also provides free schooling and healthcare to the families of carpet and textiles workers to ensure their children go to school just like ours (nice-to-know).
