Let’s Get Physical

Personal Trainers
Back Stretch

Remember 1981 and Olivia Newton John’s mega-hit Physical? (We’re not admitting it either.) Fortunately purple tights, high-cut body suits and braided head bands are out (cross your fingers that they don’t come back) and high-impact aerobics have taken a back seat to core training and cardio.

But in case your exercise routine hasn’t evolved since the 80’s, fear not. A personal trainer can help you get moving. No gym membership? Both Be More Fitness and Thrive Fitness come to you.

Be More Fitness offers a wide range of personal training options for adults and children. Owner and savvy mom of four teenagers, Belinda Morrison is experienced and qualified to guide you down the path to increased strength and endurance. Better yet, her infectious enthusiasm for exercise will rub off on you.

Be More Fitness will tailor a training schedule to meet your needs and interests based on a combination of cardiovascular exercise and strength training. Belinda can visit every week or every month to check on your progress and modify your program. Rates vary from $75 for a single hour to $45 per hour for a 20-hour package.

Thrive Fitness focuses specifically on pre and post-natal mothers (6 weeks to 6 years or more). Savvy entrepreneur Julie Riach is warm and approachable. She will help you safely strengthen your body for childbirth and get you back in your skinny jeans after the baby is born. Julie prefers to visit regularly to keep new moms on track. Thrive Fitness primarily focuses on strength training sessions leaving the cardio up to you. Rates vary from $65 for the first hour to $55 per hour for a 10-hour package.

Both Be More Fitness and Thrive Fitness will work with any existing exercise equipment you have in your home. They will also bring a variety of cool toys including wobble boards, BOSU balance trainers, medicine balls, tubing and weights.

If you enjoyed the holidays as much as we did, you may be one of the many who have made “getting in shape” the top resolution for the New Year. But don’t do it alone—a little help goes a long way where your waistline is concerned.
