Must do: feed children, get groceries, pay bills.
Should do: walk dog, make beds, drive to soccer practice.
Love to do: drink wine, see friends, paint masterpiece.
Want to take on all of the above, and more? The new word buzzing around busy households these days is multi-purposing. Put it to work for you and accomplish all your love-to-do’s without sacrificing the must-do’s or should-do’s on your check list.
Dust off your creative side and host an Art Soiree. No, we’re not talking about buying art or even looking at art…we’re talking about making art. Aliki’s Art House owner Alice (Aliki in Greek) Rathgeber is artist, teacher and entrepreneur rolled into one. Her philosophy is that creativity is made, not born.
So, invite 5 to 10 of your friends over and prepare to amaze yourself. According to Alice, you and your friends will walk away with art worthy of display. Don’t believe it? Neither did most of Alice’s students who are now proud owners of beautiful handmade artwork.
Aliki’s Art House offers Art Soirees in the evenings or on weekends. They bring drop-cloths to protect your furniture and all art supplies. The only thing you need to supply are friends, a dining room table and libations for your guests.
You can paint acrylics on canvas, watercolors on paper or draw with pencil, ink or charcoal. Or, take a personal journey of discovery and learn the art of creative journaling to craft the ultimate in self-expression.
Art Soirees cost $60 per person and the host paints, draws or collages for free. On top of that, the host also receives a gift basket filled with art supplies geared to their medium of choice.
Drink wine (check), see friends (check), paint masterpiece (check). And there’s still time to run to the grocery store and sign up for summer camp. When you multi-purpose you can tackle it all.
