Traveling Therapy

Mobile Massage

What is deliciously decadent but has no calories?

What makes you drunk with delight without giving you a hangover the next day?

What service comes with its own bed, bottle of oil and stranger to rub it on you?

If you don’t know the answer to this riddle, you should. The savvy answer, and perfect for every mom, can only be one thing…mobile massage therapy.

Create a spa-like experience in your own home during naptime, bedtime or on date night. Light candles, heat aromatherapy oil and play relaxing music. Post massage, slide into a hot bath followed by a deep sleep…all without having to get a sitter or get in your cold car with massage oil squishing between your toes.

There are many mobile massage therapists in Calgary and we have had the guilty pleasure of testing them out on your behalf. Three passed the SavvyMom test for professionalism, personality, price and performance. All are Registered Massage Therapists so if you’re lucky, your benefit plan will cover the cost.

Urban Therapeutics is owned by savvy mom and massage diva Lisa Jones. Not only does Lisa give a deep, relaxing massage, she is also a great conversationalist (if you can stay awake). Lisa specializes in pregnancy massage complete with donut-like table. Lisa also massages couples and children. One hour massages cost $80.

Tracy Stokoe is the savvy mom to two tweens and the owner of Synergy in Motion. Tracy’s specialty is sports massage and massage for those with injuries or illness (although she can do relaxation and therapeutic massage as well). Tracy also gives chair massages and will give your kids a rub-down too. Synergy in Motion’s prices start at $65 for a one hour session.

So ditch the clothes and cozy up on the table. Massage is a treat not to be missed—particularly when it comes to you.
