In the Pink

Pink Guide
image

October is the Month of the Breast and, as moms, we all know how important they are. But we also know it’s getting crowded in the pink aisle.

Here’s a quick guide to getting “in the pink” while doing your regular mom duties…(that is, crossing things off your list).

Harvest Some Hope

Every family needs bread (admit it, we all love those carbs), so pick up a loaf of Country Harvest® this month in support of their Harvest of Hope. 10 cents from every Country Harvest product sold this month will be donated to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

imageStick Them Up

Don’t get caught in a sticky situation. Pick up a roll of the fun new Scotch® Pink Duct Tape ($4.99, available at major hardware stores across Canada) and you can MacGyver your way out of any problem in style (broken heel, unstitched hem, vacuum hose repair, luggage marker—the list goes on) while helping the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation who will receive 50 cents from each roll sold. Pink bubble gum costume for Hallowe’en, anyone?

imageGood for Baby, Good for the Cause

You might know that Sweetpea Baby Food is all natural, organic, packaged in easy-to-use trays with single-serve portions and available at over 160 stores nationwide. You might also know that it’s available in two stages and six varieties including chicken and beef recipes (we love the Banana Blueberry), and that three new recipes are coming soon. But we thought you would want to know that founders Eryn and Tamar have joined the fight to end breast cancer and are donating 10% of October sales from across Canada to Rethink Breast Cancer

imageThank You, Thank You

There is never a bad time for the niceties of a thank you card, but if you need a little incentive, Penny People Designs has developed a fun, new customizable card (you choose the skin tone, hairstyle and hair colour to make the characters look like you). Send a few thank you notes in style and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation will thank you too as they will receive 50% of the proceeds. Available online from www.PennyPeople.com for $1.50 each (sets of 12).

Help the fight for the cure, and help cross some things off the shopping list too. And remember to cop a feel for yourself. Prevention is the best medicine.

According to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, breast cancer is the most common cancer among Canadian women and in 2006, over 22,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer and 5,300 will die of it. It’s a fight worth fighting.
