Funhaven Indoor Playground
Get ready for the latest in indoor fun, a haven you won't want to miss. Find out where.

What does one of the world’s coldest capitals need more of? Indoor playgrounds, of course.

In a city where winter starts early, ends late, and is just plain nasty in between, there’s always room for a new kid on the block—something that any mom who has to plan a winter birthday party, or find somewhere to go on a snow day, understands too well.

Funhaven is just that—a fun haven for kids to go, complete with over a dozen activities to enjoy.

Funhaven offers laser tag, mini-lane bowling, rock climbing, bumper cars, a video arcade and a jungle gym complete with a jungle temple theme that includes a three-level spiral slide, ball launcher and cave crawl. Food options include pizza and a self-serve yogurt bar. Birthday parties are also available.

Funhaven is the brainchild of Dave Ellis, who ran the Halloween-themed Chills for CHEO project for a number of years. He was inspired to create a family entertainment centre that could run all year long.

Because it’s so impressive, it’s common for people to assume Funhaven is just one location among a chain of indoor playgrounds, but that’s not the case—it’s unique to Ottawa.

It sounds like the perfect reason to shout SNOW DAY! Tested by Patti R., Ottawa
