Etiquette 101: Gift Receiving
While requesting a specific gift for Valentine’s Day from your beloved is a definite etiquette faux pas, we believe dropping multiple hints is perfectly acceptable. While lingerie, chocolate and flowers might top your honey’s go-to list (all good options), we’re pining for a bit of good old-fashioned bling (that is, jewellery with a new age twist).
Like clothing, natural gemstones and precious metals reflect your personality and sense of style. But unlike your wardrobe, the shelf life of jewellery can be forever. The stunningly pretty bracelets from Essence Bracelets are ones you’ll want to keep and they are even handmade right here in Calgary (we love shopping local).
Entrepreneur and healing practitioner, Lesley Cameron, was inspired to create her own line of jewellery after an unsuccessful shopping excursion in search of a bracelet for her mom. Together, Cameron, Living Essence healing practitioner Andrea Bartolotti, and partner Dave Anton, designed their 25-piece collection (including one aptly named Mother’s Love).
Each individually designed bracelet is comprised of natural, hand-cut, sparkly semiprecious gemstones (such as pink amethyst, aquamarine and black agate from India) known for their beauty and associated healing qualities. These are then linked together with polished sterling silver.
Essence Bracelets just launched their online store this week for your shopping convenience. If you prefer to shop in person, contact Cameron directly to arrange for a shopping appointment.
Now back to the etiquette issue…a big thank you and lots of love are all that’s required to say thank you.
