We’re not sayin’ that this weekend is all about the egg, or chocolate, or little bunnies…you choose what to celebrate, of course. We’re just sayin’ that we have a lot of savvy but simple recipes for treats you can share with your family if that’s what you’re looking for.

And it’s no coincidence that most of our recipes include the ingredient chocolate, known for its high antioxidant levels, due to a concentration of phenols (the ingredient that prevents the bad cholesterol from building up in our arteries—just sayin’).

So don’t fudge it with this delicious recipe for Chocolate Fudge Easter Eggs. It’s simple enough to do with the kids, but also quick enough to do on your own if you want to make them look truly fabulous.

The kids will go crazy when they see the results of these super-simple Chocolate Bird Nests and you won’t believe how easy they are to make. Fill them with beautiful multi-coloured eggs to create a centerpiece, or make individual place setting decorations for the table. Find some small baby chicks and place next to the nests to add to the décor.

Our classic Easter Cream Egg recipe has been a savvy favourite since our first year and people keep asking for more. So here it is again—it’s one we never get tired of.

For a healthier option, we have a great recipe for chocolate brownies that the Rising Chefs’ gave us. The kids will never know these brownies have health benefits beyond the phenol factor (and we’ll never tell).

If you’re looking for some yummy Passover options, we also have a Chocolate Matzah Crunch and a delicious Passover Brownie recipe, both too good to make only once a year.

With a little chocolate, a few fresh flowers around the house, and the promise of spring in the air, you’re sure to have a wonderful long weekend.
