Get Some Yummy Stuff
If there is ever a time to indulge, it’s the summer. But we say if you’re going to indulge, make it worth it. And we think the goods from the very aptly named Yummy Stuff Bakery are worth every delicious bite.
Yummy Stuff has been one of our fave cake and cookie sources in the city for the past five years, with its online store and a behind-the-scenes commercial bakery. What’s new and exciting is that owner and ‘Queen’ baker Morag Cleveley has just opened a retail store on Queen West just at Roncesvalles. So now we can head over there and see and smell all the new offerings and just marvel at all her beautiful artistic creations.
Our longtime favourites have always been the chocolate brownie squares and we’ve had great success with her custom cakes at many a birthday party we’ve hosted. Available now through the shop (and still through the website), you can pop in and admire some of the creative designs before you place your order (which you will want to do ahead of time for any personalized work).
Now imagine if you will: poached apple walnut cream tarts, open-faced blueberry pie, chocolate hazelnut mousse tarts as well as some healthy assortments like Dad’s granola, assorted breakfast breads and carrot cake without nuts or raisins. These are just some of the delicious offerings that make Yummy Stuff our new favourite sweet destination. (Check out the store menu here.) We’re definitely offering to bring dessert to our next family barbeque.
So go on and indulge—but don’t waste it on any old pre-wrapped dessert (you know the ones). Get out to West Queen West and enjoy the real yummy stuff from Yummy Stuff Bakery.
