Tell All Your Peeps

Little Peeps

We were all a twitter when we heard the news. Could it be true? Another great kids’ store has opened its doors in Leslieville? As quick as could be, we winged our way down to Queen Street East to check out Little Peeps, the newest shop to open its doors on the strip we’ve come to love.

We’re so glad we did! Little Peeps is the creation of Alyssa Dahl, an industrial designer who first made her mark as one of the original designers of the ever-popular Webkinz stuffed animals (yes, we thought you’d heard of them). With her winning eye for what kids (and parents) want, she opened her beautiful and wonderfully stocked boutique at the end of October.

We’re fans of many of the brands the peeps at Little Peeps have brought to their shelves: a selection of nifty gear from Boon and SKIP*HOP, beautiful wooden toys from Plan and Melissa & Doug, adorable paper goods from Egg Press and fashionable togs from Tea and Egg by Susan Lazar.

But what really makes Little Peeps a stand-out store are the special handmade things that you won’t find anywhere else. What little girl wouldn’t want one of the Jilly Bean Kids tulle and ribbon tutus ($34.95)? Boys will love the satin superhero capes ($39.95) and cuffs ($14.95). Moms will fall head over heels for the handmade toddler bed quilts from Connecticut-based Blue is Bleu ($120). And we couldn’t take our eyes off the limited-edition framed prints by Rebecca Purcell ($39 – 79).

You’ll definitely want to take a peek at Little Peeps.
