Party Treasures
To be (at home) or not to be? That is the question at birthday party time.
If staying in, then stay sane with help from The Party Treasure. This company delivers a treasure box full of fairy, princess, or pirate fun for three to eight year-olds right to your door!
You’ll receive high quality costumes for 10 kids, beautifully matched melamine plates and cups, bio-degradable forks and napkins, a list of game and activity ideas and a themed-music CD. For $135 a package, it’s not a bad deal when you include the themed goody bags that go with them.
If you’re looking to reduce your stress level even more, add a one-hour music session from Budding Beethovens or hire a party leader for an extra $40.
When the last guest leaves, all you do is put everything back in the box (yes, even the dirty dishes!) and the birthday fairy magically takes the mess away (aka company founder and savvy mom of four, Silvia Savage).
Deliveries and pick-ups outside the North Shore, Burnaby and Vancouver are $15.
If you decide to hit the road, head to Frostings Cupcakery in Langley. Melanie McDougall, owner and savvy mom of two, is fresh off a win at a local cupcake contest with her Neapolitan cupcake taking top honours.
With a sweet spot for baking and kids, it’s no surprise she’s also hosting birthday parties. Budding pastry chefs start off decorating their very own chef hats, and then get a mini lesson on how to use frosting tips before decorating two cupcakes themselves. The one-and-a-half hour party package is $12 per child and also includes jugs of ice tea and lemonade. You can bring your own food and do your gift opening right there.
When it comes to the big questions in life, there are no wrong answers!
