Remember the good ol’ days of the cookie monster? They were simpler times indeed, but when you look at the evolution of the cookie, things aren’t so bad today.
Back then you couldn’t find delicious and nutritious cookies in flavours like Banana Pear, Pumpkin Spice or Sweet Apple. But now you can, thanks to one of our favourite mom entrepreneur companies, Sweetpea Baby Food. Originally purveyors of frozen organic baby food made in Canada, they are now offering moms a healthy snack for their toddlers (but moms like them too) with Sweetpea Organic Cookies.
These cookies have a few more things going for them than just fabulous flavours. They are made from 100% whole grain organic ingredients that have no dairy, eggs, salt, preservatives or additives and are also kosher certified. It makes you wonder what they do have in them, but whatever it is, it works.
The pretty flower shape of the cookies is appealing, as is the fact that they are easy to chew and swallow for early eaters. If your child is teething, try freezing them so your child has something nice and cold (and healthy) to chew on.
For older sweet peas, these cookies make a great addition to any lunch bag or snack pack.
For the more experienced cookie monsters, Sweetpea Organic Cookies taste pretty good with a cup of tea. Just make sure you leave some for the playdate later on.
Available in the baby food section of most grocery stores across Canada.
