Family Outings in Toronto
Toronto Skyline

Remember your favourite Dr. Seuss Book?
“Oh! The places you’ll go! You’ll be on your way up! You’ll be seeing great sights! You’ll join the high fliers, who soar to high heights….”

Here’s your current parental version:
“Oh! The places you’ll go! You’ll be on your way out, at 6:30 am, you’ll join other parents, you’ll yearn for a friend—at new parks and amusements, art classes and such. With brains in your head and shoes on your feet, all you need is coffee and a kid’s treat….”

But we know there is no shortage of great places to go for families in our fair city. For inspiration A to Z, here is the SavvyMom ABC guide to Toronto:

A…is for AGO. The new gallery opens in November so you can imagine our excitement!
B…is for Blue Jays Baseball. Check out the Jr. Jays games for some family fun.
C…is for Centre Island. We love the boardwalk, Franklin’s Garden and the wading pool.
D…is for the Docks complete with a driving range and a drive-in movie theatre.
E…is for Eglinton Way where moms can get so much done in just a few short blocks.
F…is for our favourite Family Brunch Spots.
G…is for the Gardiner Museum. Check out the kids programs for the summer and you might want to think about signing up for the fall.
H…is for Harbourfront Centre where we like to skate in the winter but there is plenty to do in the summer too.

I…is for Ice Cream. Say no more.
J…is for Just Ducky indoor playground and family entertainment facility.
K…is for the Kortright Centre where you can fly a kite in May or make maple syrup in March.
L…is for the Lake, full of boardwalks and trails to walk or ride along.
M…is for Market because we have so many good farmers markets in TO.
N…is for a Night Out. Try one of our favourite family restos in the city.
O…is for Ontario Place for fun rides, slides and outdoor concerts in the summer.
P…is for Petticoat Creek Conservation Area, where Ontario’s largest pool is fun for everyone
Q…is for Queen’s Quay—for the lovely views of the lake and the Pink Pearl for delicious dim sum.
R…is for the ROM. You know about ROM Kids, right?
S…is for Supperworks because if you get dinner ready here, you will have more time to enjoy the other places on the list.
T…is for Timber Creek Golf Centre where there is plenty more to do than just play golf
U…is for Unbelievable chocolate chip cookies at Robyn’s.
V…is for Various playgrounds throughout the city.
W…is for Ward’s Island, because it’s our little secret escape.
X…is for X-Ray Department at Sick Kids. Because we like to support Sick Kids.
Y…is for Yummy Stuff Bakery, because it’s just yummy.
Z…The Toronto Zoo. Did you know you can go on an overnight safari?

Now, stop saying you don’t have anything to do in the city.
