Children’s Trunk Show Faves
From the Trunk

Trunk show n. a special sale in which vendors present merchandise directly to customers at a unique venue.

Children’s Trunk Show n. a very special sale where fabulous women entrepreneurs from around the city present their creative wares for children, family and home.

In case you missed it last week, you’ll enjoy our top picks from the show this year.

Just for Mom
Looking for a way to accessorize your summer white t-shirt collection? Eliza Perry has some lovely and affordable jewelry options that will add just the right amount of style to your look. We like the Shell Circle necklace ($40) because it makes a big impact for little money. Don’t forget to check out the rings and bracelets too.
Good to Know: you can buy the pendants separately and mix and match with different chains. www.elizaperry.com

Red Thread Design Caterpillar DressMostly for Girls
Devorah Miller, the owner and designer of Red Thread Design is a self proclaimed fabriholic but we know she is also someone who knows what moms and kids need when it comes to clothes. Her designs are aesthetically beautiful and simple but she takes it a step further. The caterpillar dress is one that lasts, and we don’t mean just the usual three months. It actually lasts for over three years because the dress ($52) morphs to the needs of your daughter as she grows and develops. Stage one is a dress, stage two a shorter tunic and stage three is a cute swing top to go with leggings or jeans. Now if that is not savvy, we’re not sure what is.
Good to Know: there are lots of other cool items for sale on the website including the boys sock monkey t’s. www.redthreaddesign.ca

Coleman Gerard Rocket T-ShirtJust for Kids
Coleman Gerard is a new company we liked right away. The concept of savvymom Joanna Brasier and her husband Mark, they use authentic kids art on their t’s because they believe kids need encouragement and praise. Coleman Gerard uses t-shirts ($23.99) as a canvas to showcase kids’ work and sells them online. They have teamed up with the Children’s Aid Foundation and 5% of all sales will go toward funding creative activities for abused, neglected and high risk kids.
Good to Know: The t’s are from American Apparel so they are good quality and are “sweatshop free”. www.colemangerard.com

So just in case you missed the Children’s Trunk Show last week (or ran out of time/money like us), you can still pick up a few must-haves of the season online for you and your family while supporting women entrepreneurs at the same time. Isn’t the World Wide Web a wonderful thing?
