We know you would do anything for the luxury of time like the old days when you could wake up and say to one of your girlfriends, ‘What do you want to do today?’.
Well, we can’t give you that back just yet, but we can find something for you to do if you’re looking for a chance to get out and play, be social and connect with other moms, thanks to the Toronto Sport and Social Club (TSSC), an organization you might have come across in your youth. The TSSC has been running sports leagues and special events—from dodgeball to ultimate frisbee to curling and more—for young professionals across Toronto for the past 14 years.
Kristi Herold, the founder and director of this sporty business, is a mom of three herself, who knows that moms are looking to get out and play too. It’s just that we don’t have the time after work anymore and it’s tough to make it to our own hockey team practice when we’re busy driving Jack and Jill around to theirs. So for the first time ever, TSSC is offering programs for busy moms who have the flexibility to play during the day and are hankering for a bit of competition and fun.
For now, TSCC has launched curling and volleyball leagues, as well as a boot camp fitness series, but if there is another sport you want to play and you know a few people who would like to as well, the team at TSSC want to know. Just email them to request that your fave sport gets a league of its own.
So get out there and kick the ball around before your kids get better at it than you.
