Give LUV

‘Everyone needs a little LUV once in a while’ are the words of Montreal mom entrepreneur Tracy Goodson Mackay, and we couldn’t agree more. With her business mamaluv, Tracy spreads the ‘LUV’ by delivering healthy gourmet meals. And finally, we can now get the LUV in Toronto—just in time for the busy holiday (and gift-giving) season.

The meals produced in the mamaluv kitchen are prepared for those (mostly moms) who could use a little help in their own kitchen from time to time. Originally, mamaluv was founded with the idea that new moms need food when they come home from the hospital and a full fridge filled with meals is a lot more helpful than a room full of flowers.

Now there are more options to choose from. The NewLUV gift packages are designed for the new mom in mind with meals catering to breastfeeding moms, while the GiveLUV packages are a thoughtful and delicious way to send your best wishes to someone when they need it most (these can be delivered to the home or the hospital) and the LiveLUV gifts are designed especially for those who want to maintain a well-balanced diet—perfect for those who simply want to eat well, but don’t have the time to cook.

Order dinners such as Ginger and Lime Chicken with Udon noodles or Seven Layer Vegetarian Lasagna, with packages starting at $59. Dishes are prepared locally and dietary restrictions can be accommodated upon request.

How it works: It’s simple. Meal packages are purchased as gift-cards (and wrapped beautifully) and sent to you for personalization or directly to the recipient either at home or in hospital. Then, as if in a virtual restaurant, the recipient selects their choice of meals on the Mamaluv site.

Remember, the best way to anyone’s heart is through the stomach. So if there is someone looking for a little bit of LUV this holiday season, you know what to do.
