Plush Plush Baby

Baby Shower Gift Guide

They say there is one born every minute, babies that is. We say that’s a lot of baby gifts.

No matter your age or your kids’ age, moms are always in the market for the perfect baby gift. We seek out new, fresh, tiny, plush magical items that say “We know what you need, this will help”.

So our editors have put together our second annual Dream Baby Shower Gift Guide, just for you. This stuff is so fabulous it almost makes us want to have another baby…almost. And to make it even more special, one lucky person will win the whole list. (Read on for details.)

Flair ChairFor big items that won’t upset the new parents’ interior decor, we like the Flair Chair from Boon with its seamless seat for easy clean up and the beautiful hand-painted children’s table set from Homeworks Etc.

Buggy Bubble Weather Protective Infant Car Seat CoverTo get around, safety comes first with the Cosco Eddie Bauer 2-in-1 Car Seat which we recommend covering with a lovely and plush, easy to change and wash Lilly Pad Car Seat Cover. The M1 Baby Carrier made with naturally anti-bacterial bamboo fabric will come in handy for both Mom or Dad and if a sling is their thing, try the sporty and stylish Blue Celery line. For wheeling around, we chose the Maclaren Quest Mod stroller for its reasonable price, light weight and easy closing mechanism (five seconds max). Don’t let inclement weather or bugs keep baby inside—use the Buggy Bubble which protects baby in the car seat and strollers.

Babylicious Snow Yummy BlanketBaby will look swell in organic duds from Organic Crush Eco-Kid Couture, the Robeez Newborn Gift Set and a trendy t-shirt from PS tees. That is, after being wrapped in the Solana Swaddle Blanket which helps prevent overheating, a beautiful and eco-friendly bamboo baby blanket from Kai Kids and a luxurious yummy crib blanket from Babylicious.

Organic Mouse SnugglyBut this babe doesn’t just look good—she wants to play too. Like with the Ringley all-natural organic terry teething toy or the organic mouse snuggly from Sigikid. Mess can be averted easily with the help of Kipiis bib clips which can turn most cloth materials into a bib. The new mom can use them while she is out for lunch with baby, sitting on the portable Hoppop, the diaper bag that turns into a booster seat. And she won’t want to leave home without her full line of BPA free feeding accessories from Boon  especially the squirt and snack ball.

MuffinKids MuffinmatNo mom wants to get get caught without a Plush Pad change pad from Ah Goo baby —just what it sounds like, plush but practical too. Speaking of plush, she’ll love the chenille Muffin Mat for baby to play and roll around on in the early months. It’s soft. Very soft. Don’t forget about the older sibling though. Teach-My Toddler makes a lovely educational gift for big brother or sister. Hungry baby? Keep some BPA free bottles on hand from Green to Grow and thinkbaby.

Grobag Egg Digital Room ThermometerShe might be planning a nursery. Help her out with Baby Spaces from Design Yourself Interiors, for a room plan made from paper cut outs to scale. Then, she can add in the latest in diaper dumping technology from Diaper Dekor. That is, after making the change on her new uber-cool Ubi-Changing Table, which always has a fresh diaper ready to go. A Keepsake Memory box from The Good Fairies in the nursery will accent the room beautifully and the Grobag Egg Digital Room Thermometer will ensure the room is at just the right temp for a sleeping baby. She’ll want to keep the Bounce-a-Bye Baby ball in the same room as it will evolve from a pregnancy fitness tool to a baby soothing motion seat that is good for Mommy’s back too. Spacebabies Baby Bed Blocks are a very smart solution for babies who need a bit of elevation to help breath through a runny nose, cough or any condition that causes congestion. A nice warm bath in the Spa Baby tub is a good start to the evening routine with additional spa treats like organic wash cloths, massage oil, baby wash and a bamboo hooded towel from Sweet Home Birth.

And Baby Makes ThreeLet’s not forget about Mom’s needs though! First things first, the Storksak diaper bag is funky and functional and always has a bottle of Momspit in it—for life’s messy days. The classic T-shirt from boob maternity will keep Mom looking good and able to nurse discreetly with its patented lift up flap that hides the muffin top. (And that’s why we love it.) Don’t forget mom wants to feel pretty too, with a beautiful nursing bra from Nummies. Mom will be prepared for all that is ahead of her with a collection of books from Random House including Healthy Mum, Happy Baby by Annemarie Tempelman-Kluit, From the Hips by Rebecca Odes and Ceridwen Morris, The Happiest Baby on the Block by Harvey Karp, M.D., Your Birthday Book: A Keepsake Journal by Amy Krouse Rosenthal, And Baby Makes Three by John Gottman. When it comes to designating responsibilities, we recommend starting with the very funny New Parent’s pillow cases from Wry Baby.

All of these gifts would make up a dream-like baby shower, wouldn’t they…with the help of party organizers at babyREADY and followed by the perfect thank you note and birth announcement from Penny People Designs.

So be the best guest at the baby shower this spring. It just takes one click to be savvy.
