Tan to You

Tan to You

Let’s face it, tanning is the new smoking these days.

We know it’s bad for us and frankly, we have so many other things to do with our time (not to mention the premature aging factor).

So how to fight the winter neon glow that emanates from our gams the first time we reintroduce our flesh to the outside world each spring? A simple spray tan will do the trick and we found a service that will come to you. Yes ladies, it’s called Tan on the Run, run by Nicole Hyatt (a savvy mom to four year old Jermaine), and she comes to your home to spray a tan on your body with an airbrush.

Tan on the Run is the first mobile tanning service that we know of in the T-Dot but apparently they are very popular in cities like New York and LA. And we’re not surprised because it’s so simple. Nicole arrives at your door with her supplies in hand and five minutes later she has set up shop in your bedroom or bathroom—and is ready to go. All you have to do is step into the mobile pop-up booth (think tall kids’ tent) and be ready to get sprayed. It shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes to complete the spraying process and then a further five to let it dry before you put on some loose comfortable clothing.

There are different shades of tan to choose from so if you are very pale, you might need a lighter shade but Nicole will advise you on that as well. Nicole also recommends that you shave, wax and exfoliate as well as you can before a treatment. The better condition your skin is in, the better the tan will look. (We don’t recommend tanning you fingers and toes since they are the first place where you can see patches.)

We like the fact that it only takes ten minutes (you can fit it in during naptime) and there is no parking or waiting around for your appointment.

Good to Know: The price is $60 per visit but the more people you have, the lower the price gets. For example, two spray tans in one location is $90 and a party of six is $200.

A tan in ten minutes that will last you a week—now that’s progress.
