Summer Camp Programs
CAMPLING

Nothing creates summer memories for kids like summer day camp, and nothing creates a little summer relaxation for moms like sending the kids to camp.

And leave it to a mom-run business, Mama Media, to create the clever CAMPLING® program. CAMPLING marries the fun of summer camp with free products donated by sponsors and an opportunity to send underprivileged children to camp. Add in an exclusive opportunity for SavvyMom readers to win free sessions at camps in participating in CAMPLING and we think you’ve got the perfect summer planned.

The CAMPLING program brings together 15 summer day camps in the GTA who receive products donated by family-oriented companies (such as snacks, beverages, art supplies and sunscreen), to give to their campers and staff. This year, Banana Boat® Sun Care is the official sun protection provider for CAMPLING 2008 and will be providing participating camps with Kids Tear Free™ SPF 50 UltraMist® Sport. This is the first formula strong enough to protect your child from harmful UVA and UVB rays while remaining mild to kids’ skin and eyes. Crayola® will be providing arts and crafts supplies—to help bring out your child’s inner Picasso.

In celebration of summer, Crayola and Banana Boat Sun Care are contributing more than just free stuff to your kids—they are also contributing to the CAMPLING Fund which directs money straight back to the participating camps, enabling underprivileged children the chance to enjoy the wonders of summer camp. Last year, the CAMPLING Fund helped close to 40 children enjoy 60 weeks of summer day camp.

Finally (and best of all) five SavvyMoms will be the lucky winners of our exclusive camp session and Playtex prize* package giveaway—enter here for your chance to win a two or four week session at a participating camp of your choice or one of three gift baskets from Playtex.

Summer day camp isn’t what it used to be! Children can do boxing, cheerleading, extreme sports, magic, science and computers, animal safari, recording studio, BMX, and even rocketry! Even the littlest ones can join the fun with many camps offering mom and tot programs for the younger set. We’re tired just thinking about all the activity—so just imagine how well the kids will sleep. Many of these camps offer a great introduction to overnight camp with weekend stays as well.

There is no better time than the summer and no better place to be than camp for your kids. So just click on the camp logos below to learn what all the fun is about. Start creating those memories now!
