Fun Run for Kids

Moms are never too busy to give back to the community. We just need to be reminded of how we can help from time to time.

That’s why Savvymom.ca is pleased to remind you to lace up your running shoes, join the fight against childhood cancer and get ready for this years’ ChildRun in support of BC Children’s Hospital Foundation taking place Sunday, June 3.

Together with over 5,500 other dedicated participants, you can help raise funds for research and treatment areas at BC Children’s Hospital. Just like past years, 100% of the donations collected will go towards the hospital.

As if that wasn’t enough incentive to get out and run (or walk) the 5K route or the Thrifty Foods 1km Fun Run, fundraising prizes include a chance to win a flight for two from Air Canada, a Canucks jersey signed by the team or one of three HP Pavillion laptops. And there’s more: for every participant who raises a minimum of $1000, Chip Wilson (founder and Chairman of Lululemon Athletica) will donate an additional $1000 directly to the hospital. Keep the competitive spirit alive for this event because it helps a great cause.

Come on your own, or make a day of it and gather your family and friends to join you. Online registration closes Saturday, June 2, but individuals and families can register on site at the event from 7:30 - 8:30 am on the morning of the run.

The Deets:

  • Cost to register is $25 for kids and $35 for adults until May 20
  • After May 20, $30 for kids and $40 for adults
  • Register or donate at www.childrun.com

Spending the morning outside, doing something healthy with your kids—that’s fun. Teaching your children how to help others—that’s important.
