So what’s so smart about M Smart Design? Well, with its commitment to sustainably made and organic products, it’s helping safeguard our planetary future. And its range of price points is pretty smart, too—they have many high-end items, but there is lots of shower-gift and impulse-buy potential here, too.

But what’s really smart, is that M is located in an area with plenty of fun-tastic things to keep our families busy while we browse. M is located in Park Royal Village in West Vancouver, just a block or so away from Ambleside Beach and the stroller-friendly seawall. It’s beside Whole Foods, which has a kid-friendly buffet and wonderful baby and toddler supplies. And there’s even the Gator Pit in the adjacent shopping mall, a four-level indoor playground and ball room that will keep the offspring busy and happy while you take an après-shopping load off.

In M itself, you’ll find items that look smart and act smart. Like the Shoo-foo bamboo towels, which are unbeatably soft and absorbent as well as eco-friendly, and start at $6 for a face cloth. You’ll also find an organic crib mattress made of natural, non-allergenic latex and none of the chemicals that are potentially detrimental to your infant’s health ($475). You can top off the mattress with Vancouver-made organic bedding by Green Bean Baby, and browse through a selection of natural-fibre infant and toddler wear as well.

According to owner Carmen Spagnola, celebrities and ordinary folk alike are raving about the Aquiesse line of scented soy candles; fragrances such as “Crimson Basil” and “Pomegranate Sage” had us drooling. Or you can bring that same sense of luxury to your daily rounds with the Caldrea line of cleaning products, and enjoy whiffs of sweet pea or lavender while you’re cleaning your stove, washing your dishes or laundering your clothes.

M is definitely on the map for merchandise that’s good for Mother Earth. And we wouldn’t be SavvyMoms if we didn’t think that was a smart idea.
