If back-to-school meal making is making you scream, then head to Kerrisdale where mac ‘n’ cheese now reigns supreme.
The new Mac Shack, a local, family-owned restaurant, officially opens in about one week and with a mac ‘n’ cheese menu ranging from the simple classic to a lobster and oyster mushroom version, there is sure to be something to suit all palates.
To deliver the best, they did their research on this concept (a version of which is incredibly popular in New York City), where high quality, fast-style comfort food is the goal.
The Mac Shack’s re-claimed-wood sideboard interior, modern, homey furnishings and yummy comfort food will make you feel like you are visiting a contemporary version of Grandma’s cabin (complete with the Canucks on the large screen for those who can’t miss a game).
Choose from the 10 Mac Shack Favourites, a set menu of simple to gourmet options, or build-your-own dish of cheesy carb goodness. Either way, the promise of high-quality ingredients, fast service (five minutes from order to table) and new takes on North America’s most popular comfort food has us anxiously awaiting this grand opening. Gluten-free and vegan build-your-own selections will ensure that there is something for everyone.
For kids under 10, check out The Mini Mac menu options, and for those who want to venture beyond the cheese, look for the salad and soup options. Good to Know: wine and beer will be on the highly anticipated menu. You can also order ahead and pick up for take out.
Dining out with kids is now easy peasy—or should we say easy cheesy? Tested by Michelle T., Vancouver
