Puddlegear Rain Gear
Child in Puddlegear Rain Coat

We’re pretty sure fall gets its name from the fact that leaves fall off the trees, but in Vancouver it’s more about the water falling from the sky. So when we do our BTS shopping, rain gear is at the top of our list. Not surprisingly, a local Vancouver mom has found the solution with what we think is the best gear in town, and it’s aptly named Puddlegear.

Puddlegear is the only North American distributor of European-made Abeko, PVC and phthalate free rain gear. Puddlegear’s rainwear is made of atek, a polyurethane-coated stretch fabric, which is a very light, soft, tear-resistant material that allows a full range of motion, but is also free of harmful chemicals.

Our Savvy testers have concluded that, in addition to its chemical-free benefits, the Abeko line offered by Puddlegear is also durable, breathable, waterproof and great looking. Puddlegear offers certified rain gear up to 130 cm (which is good for ages 7 to 9), and at $59.95 for a standard rain jacket, the prices are reasonable. Puddlegear carries bibs and booties for babies, too, and they can also special order in adult rainwear if you want in on the action.
