“If you fall out of that tree and break your leg, don’t come running to me!”
Those words inside your head… your subconscious? Maybe, but that voice does have a certain ring to it.
Your mother? Well, it has been said that sooner or later we all quote our mothers.
Either way, they are the words of wisdom (OK, sometimes exasperation) that come pouring out of our mouths as soon as children come pouring out of us.
They’re funny, serious, sometimes not so politically correct, but always reflective of our lives as moms.
They are also the snapshots in time – those memorable moments and anecdotes that pull on our heart strings and reinforce that what we are doing is important, fun and totally worth it.
The quest to be the best mom we can be comes with experiences, insights and reflections (and not always our mothers’) that are best when shared with friends.
We’d like to hear the words inside YOUR head.
Please send us your motherhood tips, tales and words of wisdom. We’ll share some with you in the New Year, because at SavvyMom we know that “sharing is caring” (and you do too, if you have children in nursery school).
Here are a few of our faves for inspiration:
“Always leave get well cards on the mantle so when guests arrive they will think you have been sick and will excuse the mess.”
“There is no one way to be a perfect mother and a million ways to be a good one.”
“Newborns are wasted on first-time parents.”
“Whoever said ‘The hardest part about being a mother is labor and delivery’ never put her firstborn on the bus for the first day of kindergarten.”
Manners are important to moms. So it won’t surprise you that at SavvyMom Media we try our best to keep the discussion respectful. While we hope you will share your thoughts in the comments, we ask that you keep it clean. Please avoid all profanity, derogatory terms, advertising/spam, and unsubstantiated personal attacks. We promise not to delete your comments unless they violate these terms, though we sincerely hope we won’t have to make that decision. For more detail on our commenting policy and procedures, please see our complete Community Guidelines
