“Mothers hold their children’s hands for a short while, but their hearts forever.”
You’re savvy, you’re compassionate and you’re a fabulous mom. Want to know more? We can tell you a little bit about yourself based on some info you shared with us through our recent Mother’s Day survey. It’s our gift to you for Mother’s Day—just in case you don’t hear enough that you’re the best mom ever!
You’ve changed your focus a bit...before becoming a mom, your focus was on you and how much childbirth would hurt, or if you would get enough sleep. Now, you are more concerned about something happening to your kids. You don’t want them to get hurt. You want them to grow up into happy adults. You wonder if you’re a good parent. You’re even worried about them growing up and moving out. OK, you’re still a bit concerned about your sleep, too.
You are in love...when asked about the biggest change you’ve experienced since being a mom, you’re most amazed and overwhelmed by how much you love your children. You’re also amazed at how you can put other’s needs above your own all day long and you’re clearly able to multi-task more than you ever were before.
You appreciate other moms—especially your own...your relationships have changed a bit since becoming a mom, and suddenly you value the one with your parents more these days, particularly the one with your mom. You have greater empathy, a greater sense of respect and a stronger connection to her (make sure you tell her that this week).
You have new priorities...many of you shared that your career aspirations have changed since becoming a mother. You’re evenly split among those who consider being a mom a full time job, those who have changed from full-time to part-time jobs and those who are still working as before having kids.
You like to give back...who would have thought that being a mom would make you a better person? Almost all of you who responded said that you are more patient now than ever (but still wish you had even more patience) and the most positive impact being a mother has had on your life is that you are now inspired to be a better person and role model for your kids. Those are your words, not ours!
We think it’s clear: you’re the bomb. So do a little dance, break into a big smile or send this to someone who loves you to remind them how seriously fab you are. And have a wonderful Mother’s Day.
