Skårt Children’s Art

Toronto-born and LA-bred (which makes her more hip than most of us), Sara Kugelmass is a set designer and artist who developed her Skårt line of hand-crafted prints after searching for that perfect ‘artistic’ baby present and coming up short. Using a fine-art process called serigraphy (you may know it as silk-screening), she handprints each of her charming designs (animals, transportation, gardens and music are the main motifs) onto sustainable, certified FSC wood. The result is pure modern whimsy, perfect for the nursery, child’s room, or any other room you want to add a little style to. (We’re enjoying ours in the laundry room.) Have another vision in mind? Custom work is also available. (Available from www.kidsdeserveart.com or through www.skartshop.com, from $85.)
