Keeping Cut Flowers Fresh

Submitted by: SavvyMom Editors

To help keep your cut flowers fresh, try filling your vase with the following solution—1 quart water, 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice, 1 tablespoon sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon bleach—and be sure to change the water in your vase every two days. This will kill the bacteria that grows in the vase, blocking the water from travelling up the stems.
