Whole-Wheat Brownies
You’ll Need
- 2 cups whole-wheat flour
- 1 cup good quality cocoa powder
- 1½ Tbsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp fine sea salt
- 1 cup pure maple syrup
- ½ cup honey
- ½ cup coffee, pre-brewed
- ½ cup milk
- ½ cup canola oil, plus extra for the pan
- 1 tsp vanilla
- ½ cup best-quality chocolate chips
Prep and Cook
- Preheat the oven to 350˚F and lightly grease an 8”x 8” baking pan with oil and line with parchment paper.
- In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa and baking powders, and salt. In a separate bowl, stir together the maple syrup, honey, coffee, milk, oil and vanilla.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients just until combined, taking care not to over mix; fold the chocolate chips into the batter.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a tester inserted into the middle of the brownie comes out with just a bit of chocolate crumb stuck to it.
- Allow to cool for 5 minutes, and then cut into squares.
