Whole-Wheat Brownies

Whole Wheat Brownie Bites

You’ll Need

  • 2 cups whole-wheat flour
  • 1 cup good quality cocoa powder
  • 1½ Tbsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp fine sea salt
  • 1 cup pure maple syrup
  • ½ cup honey
  • ½ cup coffee, pre-brewed
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup canola oil, plus extra for the pan
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • ½ cup best-quality chocolate chips

Prep and Cook

  • Preheat the oven to 350˚F and lightly grease an 8”x 8” baking pan with oil and line with parchment paper.
  • In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa and baking powders, and salt. In a separate bowl, stir together the maple syrup, honey, coffee, milk, oil and vanilla.
  • Combine the wet and dry ingredients just until combined, taking care not to over mix; fold the chocolate chips into the batter.
  • Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a tester inserted into the middle of the brownie comes out with just a bit of chocolate crumb stuck to it.
  • Allow to cool for 5 minutes, and then cut into squares.
