Father’s Day Activities Happening in Ottawa This Weekend

Father's Day Activities Ottawa

It’s time to celebrate the amazing dads in our lives and, this weekend, there are many Ottawa area events and activities for you to enjoy as a family while encouraging dad to have fun too. We’ve rounded up a few events to provide some planning inspiration. No matter what you end up doing for Father’s Day in Ottawa, we’re sure you’ll find an activity he will love on this list.

Visit the Cumberland Heritage Village Museum

The Cumberland Heritage Village Museum is always a favourite spot for families to visit on any occasion. We know the kids will love exploring the village featuring buildings and artifacts from the past, and the space outside has room for them to run. See the animals, learn about living over one hundred years ago, and more.

Brunch at Perspectives

Plan an incredibly delicious Father’s Day brunch by making reservations today for Brookstreet’s Perspectives restaurant! Enjoy your brunch between 9:30 and 1:30 on Sunday. Your meal includes a BBQ area with tasty treats that dad will love (but not have to cook himself!) Plus, we love that for a special discounted price, you can also purchase a family pass to go mini putting at Blackbird Falls Mini Putt after your meal.

Tip: Want to know about other places to take dad mini golfing? We have a list to help you find one in your area!

Brunch and Video Games

We know how much families love the retro arcade games at House of Targ where dad can show off his amazing Donkey Kong or Pac-Man skills. They are once again hosting a Father’s Day buffet with delicious bites and your reservation includes unlimited play time on their classic video games as well. Reservations aren’t being accepted and this is a first come first served event between 10 am and 2 pm.

Enjoy BBQ and Beer at Orleans Brewing Company

If micro-brews are dad’s ‘thing’ take him to a Hoppy Father’s Day at Orleans Brewery on Sunday between 11 am and 9 pm as they celebrate with a special BBQ! Visit their Facebook page to stay up to date on details and for more information about location.

Dinner and a Movie for Military Families

Military families, your Father’s Day plans can include dinner and a movie thanks to Military Family Resource Centre. First, enjoy a delicious dinner at Bigg’s Deli & Bar (the entire family can eat for $15!) and then for $5 per family, head to Imagine Cinemas to enjoy a performance of Shazam! and some popcorn.

Drive to the Vintage Car Show

The Billings Estate National Historic Site is hosting their annual Vintage Car Show on Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm. We think you’ll enjoy hearing from antique car owners as they talk about their vehicles and share stories. You’ll even be able to vote for your favourite! In addition to spending time at the Museum and learning more about the Estate, there is a scavenger hunt for the kids and a cash BBQ available so you can extend your stay even longer. Admission fees to apply.

Focus on Fun!

Nobody says you have to have all of the fun celebrating dad on Sunday only. If you already have plans for Father’s Day itself, head out on Saturday to the Richmond Family Fun Day at the Richmond Fair Grounds. It runs between 10 am and 3 pm. The event will feature bouncy castles, BBQ, live music, face painting, tennis demos and so much more!
