Fun Things to Do for Easter in Toronto

Easter in Toronto - SavvyMom

With March Break behind us, it’s time to prepare for the big holiday: Easter in Toronto, which brings with it an extra-long weekend (yes, just a reminder that Easter Monday (April 1) is a holiday for school kids). While we can’t help you round up treats and toys for your kids’ Easter baskets, we can provide you with suggestions on how to keep your kids busy, and hopefully, happy, this Easter season.

We round up over a dozen Easter-themed events happening in and around Toronto. In addition to some egg hunts, there are plenty of other activities going on, including a few that we think even parents will enjoy.

Beaches Easter Parade

Queen St. E., Toronto
Sunday March 31

This annual East End tradition is a great reason to get out of the house and into the fresh spring air on Easter Sunday. It starts at 2:00 pm “sharp” at Munro Park and then ends roughly two hours later on Woodbine Avenue. Expect to see floats, live music, and other entertainers. While the competition for the best views isn’t quite as aggressive as the Santa Claus parade, note that people will start lining up along Queen Street well ahead of the parade’s 2:00 pm start.

Easter Brunch Buffets

Across Toronto
Sunday March 31

An extravagant brunch buffet is one of those modern Easter traditions that we can fully get behind. If you want that classic buffet brunch experience, book your family in at the Old Mill in the West End (it’s also available on Saturday, March 30) or at the Guild Inn Estate in the East End. Both destinations offer such familiar favourites as carving, salad and charcuterie stations, eggs, and lots of desserts.

Want to really go all out? Then consider Casa Loma’s Easter brunch. It’s pricey at $90 for adults and $65 for kids (ages four to 13) but it includes access to the city’s only castle, which you can tour before or after your meal.

If your family is in the mood for something a little different, consider an Easter buffet brunchcruise, a two-hour long experience that departs on the Odyssey from 235 Queens Quay in Toronto. Tickets start at $64 for kids.

Following the magic show, the Easter Bunny will be stopping by to pose for photos and share some chocolatey treats. The show starts at 2:00 pm and tickets cost $25 each.
