It’s really, truly, honest-to-goodness here. We can barely believe it ourselves.
Here’s our savvy guide to help you get the most out of the first glorious month of summer.
Take the kids somewhere you haven’t been in your city before
Why? Because you live in a cultural mecca, and you should take advantage of that.
The Flip (the Mino is our fav)
Why? Because it’s now available in Canada and it’s the perfect, fun and oh-so-easy way to record the sights and sounds of all those precious moments with your family this summer.
To the CHIN free picnic at the CNE, July 1 through 5
Why? The CHIN Picnic embraces and celebrates the different cultures of Toronto with the world’s largest free picnic and music festival.

The Opposite Game
Why? It’s more fun for the parents than the kids! Say everything the opposite of what you mean. Start in the a.m. and wake your kids up with ‘stay in bed!’ Then encourage them to ‘stop eating your cereal or you will shrink’. Our favourite one is: ‘Go ahead, we love when you have temper tantrums, scream louder!’. You can really confuse them at the beginning but once they catch on they can play too. No real rules, nobody loses, everybody wins.
