From picking the perfect one to preparing the ultimate jack-o-lantern, the kids are pumped about pumpkins. So celebrate the season before fall is over by visiting some of these pumpkin patches. Here are our favourites in Ottawa.

Abby Hill Farms
Just south of Ottawa (at Bankfield and Prince of Wales) you’ll find Abby Hill Farms and many pumpkins to stock up on! There are also fall decorations to help your front yard look amazing for the season, as well as fresh produce and a country market. It’s open seven days a week to make it even more convenient.

Proulx Farms
With your admission to Proulx Farm’s Pumpkin Fest, you get to find a small pumpkin in the pumpkin patch to take home with you, or you can add to your carving collection by purchasing larger pumpkins on your way out. But before you leave, you’ll want to check out the wagon ride, animals on the farm, mazes and fun slides.

Ouimet Farms
East of Ottawa in Vankleek Hill is Ouimet Farms. Along with their pumpkin patch, families will love the outdoor activities like the giant corn maze (which becomes haunted just before Halloween), jumping pillow and ziplines. There’s also a market to buy some treats. Ouimet Farms is only open on weekends.

Acorn Creek Garden Farm
Acorn Creek is a smaller farm in terms of activities, but huge in terms of food. They have dozens of gardens and greenhouses, and even in October there's plenty of produce to be had. Pick out a pumpkin, and grab some fresh produce before the first frost. Everything you need for the perfect autumn dinner.

Miller's Berry Farm
Include your family's best friend in your pumpkin patch visit this year because friendly dogs on leashes are welcome at Miller's Berry Farm located just south of Manotick. Hop on a wagon to ride out to the patch, where you'll be able to pick your own pumpkins, squash, and gourds. There's a corn maze to test your skill, Petunia the bunny to visit, and plenty of other fresh produce available to take home for a farm-fresh feast.

Maple Hill Urban Farm
Located right inside the city limits in the west end is Maple Hill Urban Farm. Be brave and dare to try their 10 acre Adventure Maze. There are also hay rides, pony rides, plenty of animals to meet, and bon fires once the sun starts to set. Don't forget some extra pocket money for fresh farm eggs, honey, pumpkins, and their speciality—sorghum flour and cereal. Delicious!
