6 March Break Activities in Ottawa
If you're sticking around Ottawa for March Break and the kids aren't in a day camp, you're probably already making a list of activities to keep everyone busy and happy. We've rounded up a list of special events happening across the city for you and the kids to enjoy—so you'll never hear choruses of ‘I'm bored!' There's plenty of entertainment and educational fun all week in Ottawa.

Step Back in Time
The Billings Estate National Historic Site will open its doors during March Break for self-guided tours and exploration. Your family can play games and learn about Ottawa's past. Inside the Museum are artifacts and interesting tidbits about the history of the Estate. Be sure to check out the Ice House and walk around the gorgeous grounds.
-
Tinker Away
Children ages 6-12 can learn about engineering and computer science at the Canadian Aviation and Space Museum. We suspect many kids know a thing or two about computers thanks to Minecraft and other popular games. Registration is required for the Museum's daily tinkering workshop, and we recommend registering early as we think this will be a huge hit.

Something Sweet
Your March Break could use something sweet, that's why we think a visit to the Proulx Farm Sugar Bush is the perfect plan. Take a tour and learn about maple syrup production, play at the parks, or visit the petting zoo. Just make sure you take the time to enjoy some pancakes and syrup while you are there.
-
Bug Out at the Museum
The Canadian Museum of Nature's special exhibit Bugs Outside the Box is only in Ottawa until March 28. This exhibit will bring you face-to-face with insects—larger than life realistic models, that is. Kids can learn more about insect life than you ever thought possible, and get creative and learn about bug anatomy by building their own bug out of modelling clay. March Break is the perfect time to visit the exhibit before it's gone.
-
Be a Farmer
The cows, horses and rabbits at the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum are waiting to greet you for a day of farm activities during their Barnyard Break. Along with the kitchen demonstrations (learn how to make butter) and cow care (don't miss milking time), we think a highlight for many will be the maple taffy discussion and tasting.

Arcade Action
Add a little laser tag, rock climbing and arcade fun to your March Break at Funhaven. We love that Funhaven offers activities for kids of all ages (including the young at heart) with a toddler play area, a large play structure and games that even the little tykes can enjoy, like mini bowling. No matter what the winter weather brings, you'll be able to keep the kids busy.
