Vancouver is home to some fabulous music festivals. We love that these five concert series are free, and we especially love that these small-scale, incredibly popular events appeal to the tiniest toddlers and most enthusiastic grandparents.

Concerts in the Cove
The sparkling ocean forms the backdrop for Deep Cove's Concerts at the Cove every Friday at 7 pm from mid-July to mid-August. Make sure to bring some lawn chairs and get ready to enjoy some great music with great people.

Edgemont Village's Evenings in Edgemont start Fridays at 7 pm. This charming little strip has cafes and shops, including a Kidsbooks, if you happen to be in the market for a little summer reading. This event can be busy so be sure to arrive early with your chairs to stake out your spot.

Cates Park Concert Series happens Saturdays from 4 to 7 pm. There's a decent concession here and one of the best and biggest playgrounds this side of the Lion's Gate Bridge.

Live in Lynn Valley takes place Fridays starting at 7 pm in Lynn Valley Village, a family-friendly courtyard with a Delany's (which has great banana bread), Nourish (an organic grocery store), Browns Restaurant, and…dare we mention it…an old-fashioned candy shop called Sugar & Co.
