Our Favourite Black Friday Deals and Bargains
When it comes to Black Friday, we're connoisseurs. It's not enough to just head to the big stores and line up—we have a plan, and we know what we're after. This list isn't comprehensive—almost every store will be having a sale, and there's a limit to our shopping stamina, not to mention our budgets. This is our take on the best deals and the bargains worth our precious time.

Shopping Tips
Go a few days in advance and try things on. If you know your size, you can skip the changing room lines and head straight for the checkout.
Leave your coat at home. With all those extra bodies in the stores, you won't need it.
Plan your route. Get the most important item on your list first.
It's not always the best to go to the biggest mall. The smaller malls have smaller crowds, and usually have all the same stores and deals.
Pack your patience. The lines will be long and the crowds will be large, accept it now and don't let it ruin your day.

Sephora
Sephora has released a sneak peek of their Black Friday deals—all special sets for $13—on its app. We've got our eye on the Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Trio (Jennifer Aniston is the spokesperson, and we'll try any hair product she says she uses) and the Purity Made Simple face wash, which we snap up every year. These sets make excellent small gifts and stocking stuffers.
Takeaway tip: Sephora gets busy, fast, but the deals are great and this is one of our faves, so this is the store we're at right when it opens. We're in and out in a flash.

Old Navy
Old Navy has dependably good Black Friday sales annually, and this year is no different: everything will be 50% off. This is one of the biggest lines before the stores open because Scratch and Save tickets will be given to the first 50 people in line, who also have a chance to win $1,000,000. We'll forewarn you: lines at check-out are always very long.
Takeaway tip: Go a few days before the sale and scope out the products, decide what you want, and try everything on. That way, on Friday, you can grab your items and head straight for the checkout. Or better yet: shop online. The deals are valid there, too, and shipping is free when you spend $50.

Disney Store
Black Friday at the Disney Store has always been a great way for 'Santa' to stock up. The dress-up costumes here are good quality, and this is our chance to nab a few at a discount. In past years, discounts have been about 20% off, and we expect this year to be much the same.
Takeaway tip: They don't have a dedicated Canadian site, so keep in mind that online prices will be in USD and won't include shipping and duties.
-
Walmart
Walmart's having a three-day sale this year. Our preference is to avoid the madness of Day 1 and head out the next day for discounted stocking stuffers: small toys, batteries, socks and PJ's.
Takeaway tip: Certain electronics will only be available the first day to early customers.
-
Canadian Tire
At Canadian Tire, Black Friday starts on Thursday. We'll be snapping up kitchen equipment, cookware, holiday decor, and tools.
Takeaway tip: This is the time to nab that item you've always wanted to buy but were waiting for a deal on, like a Sodastream or Roomba. Consult their flyer to find all the best deals.
-
The Bay
The deals range at the Bay, from 30%, to 50%, to BOGO on select items. We'll be heading to the women's wear section to browse the 50% off coats and jackets, and snapping up BOGO offers on bath towels.
Takeaway tip: Consult their flyer to find the best deals on items you need.

Best Buy
The door crasher sales here are not for the faint of heart. It's worth noting that there are good deals to be had on tech accessories, such as mice, keyboards, and smart phone cases, too.
Takeaway tip:
You could potentially save big bucks on a big item, but be prepared to line up early and beat the crowd.
